⚡️100,000 volts & more: research under high voltage ⚡️
For a successful energy transition, the electricity grids and their components must also be tested under the changed conditions. The TUD Dresden University of Technology has a high-voltage hall for this purpose. Prof. Maria Kosse and her team conduct experiments there with several 100,000 volts.
The video shows a flashover in the rain at 🌧️. An ordinary insulator was pushed to its load limit until an uncontrolled flashover occurs. You can find out what this looks like in "Open the door!"
