Exchange of Ideas and New Insights at the Stuttgart High-Voltage Symposium
On June 16 and 17, 2026, the Stuttgart High-Voltage Symposium took place at the Filderhalle in Leinfelden-Echterdingen. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Maria Kosse participated in this well-established professional event, which brings together experts from research, industry, energy supply, and grid operations to discuss current developments and future challenges in high-voltage technology.
This year’s symposium focused on the design of sustainable energy grid structures and the associated technical challenges. The technical presentations addressed current issues related to the energy transition toward a climate-neutral energy system and innovations for a resilient energy infrastructure. Another key focus was on sustainable solutions for equipment—for example, through the use of alternative insulating materials—as well as technical developments in the areas of high-voltage cables, overhead lines, transformers, and compact transmission systems.
In addition to the technical presentations and discussions, the symposium offered a unique opportunity for personal exchange with long-standing colleagues from both academia and industry. The high-voltage community is characterized by a close-knit network—many familiar faces meet time and again over the years at professional events, in research projects, and through mutual exchange. These personal encounters are a valuable part of scientific collaboration and help participants share experiences and gain new inspiration for their own work.
Participation in the Stuttgart High-Voltage Symposium made it possible to follow current developments in high-voltage technology firsthand, maintain existing contacts, and forge new connections. The Chair would like to thank the organizing team of the Stuttgart High-Voltage Symposium for the successful event and the stimulating professional exchange.
