2019 Mechatronic Systems Award

Prof. Reza Moheimani (Chair, Award Selection Committee) and Prof. Janschek
The International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) has honored Prof. Klaus Janschek (Institute of Automation Technology) with the 2019 Mechatronic Systems Award by the TC 4.2. This award is presented every three years by the Technical Committee on Mechatronic Systems for outstanding contributions to the field. In particular, it recognizes Prof. Janschek's contributions to "model-based design and control of mechatronic systems and their applications in optomechatronics, robotics and aerospace." Prof. Janschek is the author of over 190 publications in this field, including a highly regarded monograph on mechatronic systems design in German, English and Chinese. The award was presented at the "Joint Conference - 8th IFAC Symposium on Mechatronic Systems (MECHATRONICS 2019) and the 11th IFAC Symposium on Nonlinear Control Systems (NOLCOS 2019)", September 4-6, 2019 in Vienna.
