2026 Johann Andreas Schubert Prize: Award for Dipl.-Ing. Till Johne
Awards Ceremony with State Premier Michael Kretschmer and Employers' Association President Dr. Jörg Brückner
A great honor for the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering: Dipl.-Ing. Till Johne was awarded the 2026 Johann-Andreas-Schubert Prize in the category “Best Master’s and Diploma Theses” in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Mr. Johne is being honored for his outstanding thesis on “Development of Digital Twin Submodel Templates for an Artificial Neural Network-Controlled Serial Manipulator.” The award ceremony took place on September 21, 2026, at the BMW Group plant in Leipzig. Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer and Employers’ Association President Dr. Jörg Brückner presented the Johann-Andreas-Schubert Prizes for outstanding scientific work with particular practical relevance.
The Johann-Andreas-Schubert Prize is awarded every two years by SACHSENMETALL in cooperation with the Johann-Andreas-Schubert Foundation for outstanding dissertations, diploma theses, and master’s theses related to the metal and electrical industries at Saxon universities. In addition to the academic awards, the best apprentices, graduates of dual study programs, and training companies in Saxony’s metal and electrical industry were also honored.
Once again this year, TU Dresden was represented on multiple occasions: In addition to Till Johne, Dipl.-Ing. Saskia Bohn (Department of Mechanical Engineering/Process and Energy Engineering) as well as Dr.-Ing. Tino Wollmann and Dr.-Ing. Christian Mathiszik (Best Dissertations) received the award.
The Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering extends its warmest congratulations to Dipl.-Ing. Till Johne on this award and wishes him every success in his future endeavors.
