Project description
Vision
- ecoKI is an online platform with the goal of enabling a low-threshold and rapid introduction of AI to increase energy efficiency in production
- ecoKI provides tools, knowledge and infrastructure for the use of digitalization and AI in a user-friendly way
- ecoKI contributes networking opportunities with professionals and AI experts
Motivation
- The hurdles in the operational application of AI and digitization for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are high
- The path from prototype from the research lab to productive use in companies is time-consuming and cost-intensive
- ecoKI is designed to reduce these hurdles
Target Group
- Manufacturing SMEs that want to increase their energy efficiency
- Research institutes
- Technology providers
A short overview
Using energy more efficiently and thus reducing resource consumption and costs - digitization and artificial intelligence (AI) methods offer a wide range of options here. However, small and medium-sized enterprises are too often unable to fully make use of them because they often lack the expertise to integrate these technologies into their own operations and the barriers to entry are high. In the future, they should be able to obtain tools, knowledge and an infrastructure to support them via a platform. This is the research goal in the new joint project ‘ecoKI’.
A central task in the ecoKI project is to set up and organize the platform as the basis for a long-term, functional business model. The second essential task is the development of standard building blocks for the platform. These are intended to serve as a knowledge base for users and to be used for new tasks. The reusable modules implemented in the platform offer companies support in developing their processes cost-effectively and efficiently through the use of AI methods. Synergies from different use cases should be able to be used.
The economic usage perspectives of the project are strategically oriented in the long term and are based primarily on the improved future cooperation between developers and users of innovative AI technologies in business practice through ecoKI.
