Student assistants wanted!
The Chair of High Frequency and Photonics Engineering is always looking for student assistants in the fields of
- Remote sensing,
- Prototypenentwicklung von Radarsystemen zur Analyse exoplanetarer Untergründe () - RF systems (),
- Digital Signal Processing for Measurement Systems
- Embedded Software Design for a RF Sweep Generator
- RF Hardware Design
- Analog Hardware Design
- Measurement System Control and Graphical User Interface with Python - Nonlinear optical single photon frequency conversion ()
As part of ongoing projects, which aim the realization of quantum optical sensor networks, nonlinear optical single photon frequency converters have to be designed (1), remotely controlled and monitored via an software-based user interface (2) as well as characterized in detail (3).
The three tasks cover the following main aspects:- Design
- Improvement of an existing concept
- Numerical simulation of optical key parameters
- Implementation of the concept
- Literature research and documentation - User interface
- Implementation of a unified software backend (Linux)
- Control and monitoring of various devices such as tunable lasers, detectors, optical amplifiers and temperature controllers via the Python libraries PyVisa or PySerial
- Realization of a user-friendly graphical user interface (e.g. with Tkinter or QT)
- Literature research and documentation - Characterization
- Detailed characterization of the individual hardware components
- Performing long-term stability test
- Carrying out measurements within the testbed
- Literature research and documentation -
Notes
- The individual tasks can be divided up.
- Basic knowledge of the Python programming language is desirable
- Design
