IfN Hiking Day 2025

The annual hiking day of the Institute of Communication Technology (IfN) was organized this year by the Chair of Information Theory and Machine Learning (ITML).

The hike led about 50 colleagues from the IfN through the forest along the Wilde Weißeritz from Hainsberg to Tharandt, including a visit to the Tharandt castle ruins. After a refreshing break at Café Buddehagen, the group continued, past the Sun Temple and the Somsdorf Heights, and from there hiked into the valley of the Rote Weißeritz through the romantic Rabenauer Grund. With excellent culinary service at the Ballsäle Cossmannsdorf restaurant, the sociable day came to a very pleasant close after approximately 15 kilometers of hiking.
