International Doctoral Network SOFTWEAR approved
The European Commission has approved the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network "SOFT actuators for Wearables, Exoskeletons, and Augmenting Robotics" (SOFTWEAR). Scientists from leading research institutions in 8 European countries, Australia, and Japan will spend the next four years conducting research on a new form of wearable electronics and augmenting textiles that can provide us humans with not only informational but also physical assistance. The team is multidisciplinary and includes chemistry, physics, mechanics, electronics, textile engineering, design human-technology interaction and ethical aspects. The Institute of Semiconductors and Microsystems at TU Dresden participates with the material-inherent integration of information processing capabilities into soft actuators and smart textiles.
