School labs
The increasing complexity of the challenges of our time requires the cooperation of many scientific disciplines on special topics. In order to provide optimal working conditions for interdisciplinary research from the outset, scientists from the School of Engineering Sciences organise themselves into School Labs. These lab structures are temporary university facilities, which enable the participating scientists from different scientific disciplines to work together on complex problems from the very beginning. The spatial interaction of the scientists, which is possible at any time, should help to overcome the existing communication difficulties between different scientific disciplines. A strong network of scientific disciplines should enable effective cooperation through the development and use of synergies.
