Course description
Computers have to interact in practice with processes, systems and components from a wide variety of industries in business and technology. In order to master the resulting complexity, each software must be decomposed into objects and each process into systems in order to develop them in a division of labor and then assemble them. As contributors to this division of labor, computer scientists must understand fundamental properties of interfaces (signals) and systems in order to identify and delineate their own task.
The students should be enabled to cooperate with the business economists and engineers acting as users, learn the basic principles of important user algorithms as well as industry-standard solution approaches.

Industrial Cyber Physical Systems | 2/2/0 | Mi 11:10 Uhr | nach Vereinbarung |
Course description
The students have the necessary knowledge and know specialized methods to design and implement application systems. The scope of this course focuses on industrial cyberphysical systems (CPS).
In the course, methods from current research projects on the following topics are presented:
-
Cyberphysical production systems
-
various aspects of industrial networking, e.g. real-time, prioritization, reservation, synchronization, multiplexing
-
holistic management of industrial networks and systems e
-
information modeling for industrial cyberphysical systems, e.g. digital twin
-
Industry 4.0, especially basic concepts, models, services and interactions
The methods are first introduced theoretically and then applied to realistic problems in exercises.
The course provides the basics for the "Cyber Physical Systems Lab" (wim).

Course description
This lecture is intended to provide an introduction to the diverse world of “applied computer science.” The lecture (module) “Building Systems Engineering” is designed to bridge the gap between potential areas of application (civil engineers) and the methods of computer science. The subject area of building systems technology covers the most important elements such as lighting, heating control, ventilation and air conditioning systems, access control, shading, including all sensors and actuators. An introduction is given to networks in buildings, including existing information technology standards (e.g., LON and KNX). The lecture is supported by examples and practical exercises. The teaching is based on the value creation life cycle and thus includes facility management in addition to planning.
