DATASPACES exhibition
Review of the inauguration on November 14, 2024
At the inauguration on November 14 in the foyer of the Andreas Pfitzmann Building, around 100 visitors were given a first insight into the exhibition and the rapid developments in data science. Companions and supporters of this special project had the opportunity to test the stations of the exhibition, exchange ideas and be inspired.
The Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences at TU Dresden (CIDS) is dedicated to research on all aspects of digitalization and is presenting the exhibition "//DataSpaces. Experience science." insights into its work. Be it training an artificial neural network or playing with swarm behavior: Interactive exhibition modules not only allow visitors to visually experience supercomputing at the TUD or experience historical computing and computer technology, but also offer the opportunity for discussion with a chatbot and much more. The exhibition is accompanied by a varied supporting program with guided tours and workshops as well as lectures and discussion formats.
New perspectives on complex topics
The exhibition focuses on three topics: complexity, high-performance computing and visualizing data as maps. Visitors to //DataSpaces can get hands-on with various exhibition objects: Manipulate swarms and other complex systems, get dressed at the "Magic Mirror" or discuss with a chatbot.
The exhibition combines science and artistic design to make complex topics understandable and tangible. Digital visualizations open up new perspectives, giving you new angles on topics in the fields of data protection, data analysis and high-performance computing.
