Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mirko Conrad serves as managing director of samoconsult GmbH, a Berlin based independent consulting engineering company recognized in the automotive, aviation, and railway industries for their comprehensive services in the areas of functional safety, SOTIF, and model-based systems/software engineering.
Mirko Conrad is also one of the co-founders of the tudoor academy, a knowledge hub for disseminating knowledge on the topics of software quality and safety and for promoting exchange between experts.
In both roles, he advises and coaches some of the world’s leading companies on the introduction and implementation of safety standards and the optimization of their systems and software development processes.
Mirko Conrad holds a PhD in engineering and an MSc in computer science from Technical University Berlin, Germany. As honorary professor at the Dresden University of Technology, he lectures in automotive software engineering and functional safety / SOTIF.
He is deputy spokesperson of the steering committee of the Automotive Software Engineering working group and technical expert on the steering committee of the Software Engineering technical committee of the German Informatics Society (GI).
Mirko Conrad participated/participates in the standardization of various safety standards and guidelines including ISO 26262 (functional safety), ISO 21448 (Safety of the Intended Functionality, SOTIF), ISO TS 5083 (Safety for Automated Driving Systems), ), ISO PAS 8800 (AI safety), DO-178C (avionics software), and DO-331 (model-based development).
