ACOMODIA – Adaptive Multi-Models for Smart Glasses in Industry and Healthcare
How can digital information be delivered exactly where and when it’s needed—without users having to search for it manually? The ACOMODIA project aims to develop intelligent assistance systems based on smart glasses that provide information automatically, contextually, and in real time. Whether in industrial maintenance or during hospital ward rounds, context-aware information delivery can significantly improve everyday workflows.
The Chair of Software Technology (SWT) at TU Dresden contributes its expertise in adaptive software systems to ACOMODIA. The focus lies on designing a flexible software architecture that can recognize contextual factors such as location, movement, and user behavior, and use them to determine and display relevant information. To achieve this, the project leverages techniques from machine learning and model-driven software engineering.
A key innovation is the synchronization of digital twins: the system creates a dynamic link between the real world and its digital representation using a multi-model framework. This allows it to adapt to changing situations in real time and support users proactively—without requiring manual input. The SWT team also investigates algorithms for intelligent data prioritization, ensuring users always see what matters most.
ACOMODIA is a close collaboration with industrial and clinical partners, ensuring that real-world needs directly inform technical development. For SWT, the project offers an ideal opportunity to advance research in context-adaptive systems and apply it in meaningful, real-life applications with high impact.
