Dresden is a lively city and legendary for its diverse cultural and recreational offerings. Hardly any other city in Germany offers so many museums, theaters, cabarets, cinemas and concerts. Whether it's Dixieland, the Film Nights on the banks of the Elbe or the Bunte Republik in the trendy Neustadt district, there's always something going on here. And: Dresden is considered the capital of student clubs - there are 13 of them here.
Dresden is one of the leading technology locations in Europe. There is an enormous amount of research here, both in and outside the university. Dresden stands for togetherness: cooperation between the various disciplines and institutes is a matter of course. You will also feel this during your studies.
In Dresden, the cost of living is low, rents are moderate, and with the semester ticket you can travel throughout Saxony.
Dresden is a green city: make jogging through the large garden, cycling or simply chilling on the Elbe meadows your daily ritual. It's a stone's throw to Saxon Switzerland with its unique rock formations for hiking and climbing.
You can prepare yourself for climbing by bouldering, because Dresden is also a sporty city. In the university sports club alone you have more than 800 sports courses to choose from.
