Distributed Systems Engineering
The international master's program in Distributed Systems Engineering enables students to analyze challenges in the domain of distributed (software) systems and to architect and develop solutions as well as to operate distributed (software) systems. The curriculum provides deep foundational knowledge of the domain as well as a broad variety of domain-specific aspects adressing software engineering, systems architecture, or security for instance.
Distributed Systems Engineering as of 2020 comprises even more topics to choose from in order to address the students' interests. The curriculum comprises
- 7 mandatory modules including all the foundations of distributed (software) systems
- 1 mandatory internship to gain practical experience in the filed of distributed (software) systems
- more than 20 (compulsory) elective modules addressing a broad variety of topics in the field of distributed (software) systems
your choice! choose 7-8 modules in order to obtain 42 credits - 2 (compulsory) elective language modules in order to either learn German or to improve your English (writing) skills - choose 1 out of 2
- a master's thesis to prove you are able to (for instance)
- analyze challenges or systems
- solve problems and explain your solutions
- implement and document your specific solution
- critically analyze and evaluate your own solution and - perhaps - compare it ith oher approaches
