Michel wins ACM SIGBED Student Research Competition
PhD student Michel Rotthleuthner wins the ACM Special Interest Group on Embedded Systems (ACM SIGBED) in the graduate track, which took place at ESWEEK 2026. ACM SIGBED is a focal point for all aspects of embedded computing systems and cyber-physical systems, including both software and hardware. Congrats Michel! He will represent SIGBED and compete against other SIGs in the ACM Grand Finals.
Michel is a PhD student of the TUD Faculty of Computer Science and a research associate with the Internet Technologies research group at HAW Hamburg, supervised by Thomas Schmidt and Matthias Wählisch.
Michel also presented the following paper at EMSOFT, the top-tier SIGBED conference, as part of ESWEEK 2026:

The ACM Student Research Competition (SRC) offers a unique forum for undergraduate and graduate students to present their original research before a panel of judges and attendees at well-known ACM-sponsored and co-sponsored conferences.
ACM SIGBED SRC is the main student research competition in the real-time, embedded, and cyberphysical systems community. There are two categories: Undergraduate and Graduate. The champions will represent SIGBED and compete against other SIGs in the ACM Grand Finals.
