In a nutshell
I am a full professor and hold the Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems at the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Dresden. My research and teaching focus on scalable, reliable, and secure Internet communication. This includes the design and evaluation of networking protocols and architectures, as well as Internet measurements and analysis. My efforts are driven by the hope of improving Internet communication based on sound research. I'm actively involved in the IETF since 2005 and co-founded multiple successful open source projects such as RIOT and RTRlib. I am a member of the Advisory Board of BCIX, the Berlin Internet Exchange Point, and INSO, the Internet Namespace Security Observatory supported by the Internet Society (ISOC). My work is published at conferences such as ACM CoNEXT, ACM IMC, USENIX Security, and in journals such as ACM CCR, IEEE TNSM. More details in the complete CV.
I studied Computer Science and Contemporary German Literature at Freie Universität Berlin. I received my PhD in Computer Science with highest honors from FU Berlin.
Furthermore, I am an associated member of the Internet Technologies (INET) research group at HAW Hamburg, and a co-founder of link-lab.
