Privacy and security research for a connected society
The Chair of Privacy and Security at the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Dresden has been headed by Prof. Florian Tschorsch since August 2023. Our goal is to foster the transformative potential of communication systems while safeguarding their efficiency, privacy, and security.

Chair of Privacy and Security
Digital technologies are shaping the foundations of our connected society. From anonymous communication and digital identities to peer-to-peer systems, and data-driven services, today's systems must navigate the balance between openness and efficiency with privacy and security. These complex environments demand trustworthy architectures and resilient, transparent protocols.
At the Chair of Privacy and Security, we explore and design communication systems that meet these demands. Our research focuses on secure and privacy-preserving designs in distributed systems, ranging from information privacy and anonymization to trustworthy data networks and resilient, decentralized architectures. We approach these challenges as system architects, combining technical innovation with interdisciplinary perspective to develop principled solutions.
As one of the first academic chairs in Germany dedicated to privacy, the chair continues its tradition of research at the intersection of privacy, security, and communication systems.
