Cloud and Heat
Start-up "Cloud & Heat" turns waste heat in the data centre into heating energy
The start-up, founded in 2011, has found a solution for converting waste heat from data centres into heating energy for the building. Its mission is to make sustainability and security the drivers of digital innovation. The Dresden-based company develops, builds and operates energy-efficient, scalable and secure data centers that meet the requirements of the future cloud.
Private and public cloud solutions based on OpenStack are offered both as customised solutions for SMEs, such as the company’s Datacenter in a Box (DiaB) and Datacenter Container (DCC) products, as well as in the form of technology solutions for larger IT infrastructure players. Both business areas use Cloud&Heat’s innovative hot water direct cooling, which is highly efficient but also enables the re-use of the waste heat; water at a constant temperature of 60 degrees connects directly to building or district heating systems. Thereby, Cloud&Heat builds and operates the world's most energy- and cost-efficient data centres.
The company already received numerous awards and counts some of the world’s leading corporations from Europe, Asia, and the US among its customers. Cloud&Heat is also actively defining the future of cloud computing through its participation in a number of consortia, such as AUDITOR and SecuStack.

Scontain
"Give hackers no chance."
Scontain UG is a private independent German SME in the computer security domain that focuses on simplifying the construction of confidential applications. In the health domain, it has been working on the German Electronic Patient Record service (EPA), the secure processing and sharing of confidential records as well as confidential federated machine learning. Despite being a deep-tech startup, Scontain is already profitable. Scontain supports its customers to build confidential applications with the help of their SCONE platform.
SCONE is a confidential compute software platform that supports the development and operations of modern confidential cloud-native applications and multi-party confidential computing. It enables service providers and software developers to transform their applications into confidential applications running inside of Intel SGX enclaves without requiring source code changes. The platform supports all common programming languages and has excellent performance. SCONE has improved security since it attests not only the program code but also the encrypted filesystem as well as the platform. This enables the support of interpreted languages like Python and in turn, enables confidential machine learning as well as classification supporting all modern machine learning frameworks.

SIListra
SIListra Systems GmbH is a spin-off from the Chair of Systems Engineering at the TU Dresden. Since 2004, it has been working on special software procedures and development tools for practical use in the field of functional safety. With the founding of the company SIListra Systems GmbH in 2012 and the entry of the majority shareholder TraceTronic GmbH in 2016, the market launch of SIListra solutions suitable for series production is being driven forward. In the process, the SIListra tools are continuously and dynamically developing.
