Josef Weidendorfer heads the Chair of Emerging Computing Technologies. His research focuses on the evaluation and development of the architecture and usability of future computing systems for high-performance computing, utilizing partly novel computing technologies—including computing components such as CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs; memory technologies; interconnect and network structures; as well as architecture within and across node boundaries. In addition to leading the chair with its teaching and research responsibilities, Josef Weidendorfer serves as the technical director of the ZIH.
