T.I.M.E. Association provides framework for international partnership work in teaching
The T.I.M.E. Association is an international network of technical universities with 59 members in 25 countries, including many close cooperation partners of TU Dresden such as Politechnika Wroclawska, EUTOPIA partner Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Ecole Centrale de Nantes or Riga Technical University. It offers TU Dresden a framework to deepen cooperation, especially in teaching and structured student exchange.
In the current year, many activities have already been implemented and networking intensified after the break due to the corona. In April 2023, for example, an International Staff Training Week took place at the Ecole Centrale de Nantes for selected T.I.M.E. network partners, which provided an opportunity to coordinate the double degree with the Groupe des Ecoles Centrale and to establish contacts with KTH Stockholm and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
In June, VUB Professor Heidi Ottevaere visited the Chair of Measurement and Sensor System Technique (Prof. Czarske). During a joint lunch with Peter Rosenbaum, Head of the International Office, T.I.M.E. and EUTOPIA activities were discussed and the signing of an Erasmus Inter-Institutional Agreement was agreed.
In July 2023, a T.I.M.E. summer school on the topic of "IoT of Drones - GPS-less navigation" was held in Riga under the auspices of Riga Technical University, with TUD Professor Ercan Altinsoy giving a lecture on "Drone Noise - Sensing, Reduction and Perception". Discussions on the sidelines of the event between Prof. Altinsoy and Maike Heitkamp with Natalja Muracova, Head of Foreign Students Foundation and Short-Term Courses Unit, and her team provided an opportunity to plan the next joint activities. In addition to a visit of the RTU in Dresden in December 2023, the plans include another joint summer school in 2024 and the intensification of student exchanges.
In October 2023, the General Assembly of the network will take place at Politechnika Wrocławska with strong participation of TU Dresden. If you have any questions, please contact Maike Heitkamp-Mai.
