Participation in the 6G-life Research Project

6G-life is a joint research project of the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) and the Technische Universität München (TUM) on communication networks with a focus on human-machine collaboration. For this purpose, innovative concepts in the areas of scalable communication, novel methods, flexible software concepts and adaptive hardware are being researched in a holistic approach. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the major project with 70 million euros. Key questions in the project are: Latency (delay - how to make communication even faster?), Resilience (how to maximise resilience?), Security (how to protect privacy and fend off attacks?), and Sustainability (how to decisively reduce the extreme energy consumption of digital communication?). Approximately 40 chairs with about 120 employees are involved in the project.

One of the application fields of Bridge Project BR1 "Hydrogen4GreenIT" (doctoral student Mr Zizhe Wang) deals with the construction of a Segway swarm that will use 6G for communication. Zizhe Wang attended the first general assembly of the 6G-life research project, which took place on May 10^th and 11^th, 2022, at Messe Dresden. During these two days, all participating institutions of the TUD and TUM had the opportunity to get to know each other personally and to discuss their specialist topics in detail. The inter-university meeting was rounded off by an informative evening event and dinner.
