New doctoral students in record time
Two new doctoral students joined the fourth Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group on December 1, 2023. In a record time of just under three weeks after their interview, they are members of the Research Training Group and are ready to drive forward the content of projects E3 and F5.
Philipp Castro complements Cluster E "Hydrogen imports from the MENA region compared to hydrogen production in Germany" and started working on the sub-project TP E3: Extended cost-benefit analysis for hydrogen production in MENA countries as successor to Elphas Oyugi. He completes Cluster E, which consists of five sub-projects. He is supervised by Prof. Georg Hirte. Philipp Castro, who completed his degree in economics in Mannheim, welcomes the opportunity to be part of the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group:"I am very much looking forward to conducting model-based research into the potential of hydrogen in this interdisciplinary team."
Varun Gurugubelli is part of Cluster F "Impact H2 green". He is working on sub-project TP F5: Entrepreneurial impact on sustainability in the H2 economy as the successor to Benjamin Zettler. He completed his studies with a Master's degree in Sustainable Systems Engineering at the University of Freiburg. Supervised by Prof. Dijkstra-Silva, Varun Gurugubelli is looking forward to his new role and to being part of theResearch Training Group: "I am excited to start my new position as a Scholar at the 4th Research Training Group. I look forward to be part of the research challenges and fun activities ahead."
After a joint onboarding on December 5, 2023, the first group activity started directly with the new fellows: The Christmas tree was decorated!
