Copper Alloys 2024 in Stockholm
The international conference "Copper Alloys 2024" took place in Stockholm on October 8 and 9. The event focused on the latest results from research and development into copper and copper alloys and their processing. The presentations and discussions covered topics such as additive processing, the corrosion properties of certain alloys, the effect of hydrogen on strength properties and the substitution of lead as a chip breaker in copper-zinc alloys. In addition to the technical exchange in the sessions, an evening event at the Vasa Museum provided the opportunity to meet experts from the copper industry and discuss current issues from research and industry. This provided plenty of inspiration for research at the Chair of Joining Technology and Assembly. This year, the Chair was involved with a presentation on wire and arc-based additive processing of copper-zinc alloys. The results will subsequently be published in the form of conference proceedings and will be freely accessible. The next national event of this kind will be the "Copper Symposium 2025" in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
