14th ECNDT 2026 with three presentations on non-destructive testing of joints of our Chair
Franz Hielscher and Christian Mathiszik at ECNDT 2026 in Verona
14.ECNDT 2026 Verona
ECNDT 2026 in Verona, a major European conference on non-destructive testing (NDT), once again provided an excellent platform for scientific exchange between research and industry. Our chair was also represented at the conference by Mr. Hielscher and Mr. Mathiszik and was able to showcase the field of NDT for joined structures with three successful presentations on the topics of
NDT of adhesive joints:
- Non-Destructive Characterization of the Curing Process of Thick-Film Adhesive Bonds Using Transverse Ultrasonic Waves
and
NDT in resistance spot welding:
- Non-Destructive Testing of Resistance Spot Welds by Magnetic Evaluation
- Ultrasonic Testing of Projection-Welded Foils for Bipolar Plates
present.
Erfahrungsaustausch mit Experten der Firma Evident auf dem ECNDT 2026
Our presentations focused on current research and new approaches to the evaluation of joints. The talks generated significant interest and led to numerous stimulating discussions with colleagues from academia and industry.
In addition to the scientific program, the trade fair held in parallel offered a wide range of opportunities for direct exchange with companies. ECNDT is regarded as a key international industry gathering where innovations, research findings, and industrial applications of non-destructive testing (NDT) come together. We were able to make the most of this opportunity and discuss potential application areas, technology transfer, and future collaborations with numerous companies.
Oper AIDA in der Arena von Verona
The conference was rounded off by a special cultural highlight: a visit to the dress rehearsal of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera *Aida* ( conducted by Stefano Podain) at the Arena di Verona, featuring star conductor Daniel Oren. This impressive cultural program provided a fitting conclusion to a conference week that was enriching both professionally and personally.
Participation in ECNDT 2026 has once again demonstrated how important close collaboration between research, application, and industry is for the further development of NDT for joints.
