SPP 2489 focus group workshop on microstructure reconstruction
Presentation of different reconstruction methods
This week, researchers from across Germany are meeting at Schloss Reisensburg for the SPP 2489 focus group workshop on 2D/3D microstructure reconstruction.
Over three days, we are discussing state-of-the-art approaches for microstructure characterization and reconstruction, ranging from experimental imaging techniques (SEM, EBSD, EDX, in-situ methods) to reconstruction methods and the prediction of microstructure-property linkages.
A particular highlight is the joint effort to develop a community benchmark for microstructure reconstruction. The workshop brings together expertise from researchers across the SPP, with the goal of establishing common datasets, comparing reconstruction methodologies, and identifying future research directions.
Beyond the scientific presentations, hands-on software sessions, intensive discussions, and networking activities provide an excellent basis for new collaborations within the priority programme.
Many thanks to all participants for their contributions, to the organizing team around Volker Schmidt, Benjamin Klusemann, Schloss Reisensburg, and to the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft for making this exchange possible.
