VDI sponsorship award for outstanding diploma thesis: Brain Marko Riemer honored

Brain Marko Riemer was awarded one of the three VDI sponsorship prizes for the period 2025/2026 at the annual members' meeting of the VDI BV Dresden e.V. held in Dresden on March 27, 2026. He received the award for his outstanding diploma thesis entitled "Calibration of physics-augmented neural network models for viscoelasticity", which he wrote at the Chair of Computational and Experimental Solid Mechanics. In the thesis, Mr. Riemer dealt with viscoelastic material models based on artificial neural networks.
A particular focus was on the calibration of the data-driven models using full-field measured displacement data. We congratulate Mr. Riemer on this great success!
