CVT represented at the DECHEMA Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering in Würzburg
From May 26-28, 2026, the DECHEMA Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering took place in Würzburg. Two PhD students from the CVT chair participated in the conference and presented their current research activities.
Furqan Yousafzai presented experimental results from the SmartPaste Project (“Metal salt assisted hydrolysis of MgH 2 for hydrogen production: An investigation of the reaction mechanism for aqueous vs mechano-chemically activated hybrid salts”). Paul Naumann presented a comparative study within the CarbonCycle Project on the use of structured catalysts for the hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate (“Performance assessment of solid foam catalysts for the hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate to ethylene glycol”).
In addition to the many interesting presentations covering a wide range of topics in reaction engineering, the conference provided excellent opportunities for scientific exchange and networking. The event was further enhanced by the beautiful summer weather, allowing all participants to enjoy their time in Würzburg both professionally and personally.
