CVT presents poster at the International Conference on Energy Storage Materials

Ms. Jihad Aici presented a poster at the International Conference on Energy Storage Materials, held in Dresden from 20–23 September 2026.

The poster, entitled “Porous cellulose-immobilized Mg–Al alloy for chemical hydrogen storage,” is based on the research carried out during her master’s thesis and was developed in collaboration with the University of Pisa and PTS – Institut für Fasern & Papier gGmbH.

Her work focuses on the development of a concept for hydrogen production using metal powders immobilized on a porous cellulose-based matrix. Magnesium-based materials are attractive candidates for hydrogen-related applications due to their high hydrogen-storage capacity, while the use of porous cellulose offers a lightweight, renewable and structurally versatile support material. Combining these components provides an interesting approach toward the design of functional materials for future energy-storage technologies.

Presenting this work at an international conference was a great opportunity to discuss the results with researchers working in the field of energy storage and to highlight the value of interdisciplinary and international collaboration.
