Åbo Akademi University (ABO)
Location: Turku, Finland
Expertise: Technical chemistry, reaction engineering, sustainable process technologies
Åbo Akademi University (ABO) is the only Swedish-speaking multidisciplinary university in Finland with a strong international profile. The Faculty of Science and Technology is home to the Laboratory of Industrial Chemistry and Reaction Engineering, which has extensive expertise in catalysis, reaction kinetics and reactor technology with a special focus on sustainable processes, biomass utilization and microreactor systems.
ABO is a leader in research and teaching, particularly in chemical process engineering: reaction engineering, heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis, process intensification and the development of novel reactors are key research topics. Particular attention is paid to sustainable processes and the use of biomass as a raw material. In teaching, ABO combines excellent technical content with modern digital teaching concepts.
In the InnoLAB project, ABO contributes its expertise in the development of sustainable processes, the use of non-conventional forms of energy and digitalization in teaching. In particular, the team will be involved in the conception and technical development of the case studies, as well as in the evaluation and further development of the didactic materials.
