Brief description
Objective of the operations in the framework of the cooperation project between the Dresden University of Technology, the Institute for Energy Engineering, the Chair for Combustion, Heat and Mass Transfer and the Becker environment services Ltd. (former CED waste management Chemnitz Ltd.) is the development of a low temperature pyrolysis process for different polluted remnant and waste fractions. The possibility of material recovery and a thermal utilization of waste and of its pyrolysis products for energy generation is being investigated.
The main work areas of the Dresden University of Technology are in general:
- Development of concepts for process, reactor and power plant technology, including a newly developed plant periphery
- Creation of a combustion chamber model of the pyrolysis gas for the investigation of the combustion properties
- Development of a process control and security concept
- Development of strategies for the use of waste heat and surplus pyrolysis gas
- Pyrolysis tests for quality assurance of the pyrolysis products and valuable material for the investigation of emission problems
Test rigs used / special purchases
- Pyrolysis technical plant (low and middle temperature pyrolysis reactor)
- Combustion chamber for the afterburning of the pyrolysis gas
