Brief description
The first goal for the project is the coating and structuring of large-area flat and cylindrical samples. A decisive step for the technical implementation of the project is the transferability of the preliminary results of the research project (insert DIZEeff designation) to large-area samples with corresponding quality and long-term stability in the larger cm² to low m² range.
These surface properties are to be produced by applying a thin functional layer. A second approach to change the wetting properties of the heat exchanger surfaces is the investigation of surface structures in the sub-micron and micron range. This is to be systematically realised in the project by means of laser interference structuring. Basic investigations on the condensation behaviour of water vapour will be carried out on a test stand on flat test specimens with different surfaces and mathematical-physical relationships will be derived from these. The condensation behaviour of modified tubes will be tested in demonstrators under real boundary conditions.
Experimental facilities used/special purchases:
- Drop condensation test rig
- Test stand with demonstrators
