Process Analysis

Contents

The course covers methods for modeling as well as numerical solution methods for model equation systems. It deals in detail with:

• Balance equations for mass, energy and momentums
• Commonly used constitutive relationships (e.g. thermodynamic equations of state, mass equilibrium models, transfer rates, and kinetics)
• Methods for the analysis and transformation of model equation systems (e.g. degree-of-freedom analysis)
• Numerical solution and discretization methods for ordinary differential equation systems, differential-algebraic equation systems, partial differential equation systems, and partial differential-algebraic equation systems
• Model-based design of experiments
• Parameter identification and model discrimination
