Some of our main research areas:

The Chair of Powder Metallurgy conducts research in close cooperation with Fraunhofer IFAM, Branch Lab Dresden, in the fields of powder metallurgy and powder-based additive manufacturing as well as hydrogen technology. The focus here is on the entire value chain of powder metallurgy, i.e. from powder preparation and modification to shaping, sintering and characterisation. The development of a wide variety of materials is of particular research interest; the spectrum ranges from light metals to high-temperature materials and composites. Functional materials such as soft magnetic alloys, thermoelectrics or cellular materials are considered, but also relatively young material classes such as Complex Concentrated Alloys (CCA).
