MULTILAM
Material science investigation of the electrical contact of metallic materials with MULTILAM
In the frame of the joint project several themes are to be investigated. In part 1 the dependence of the short term behaviour of various MULTILAM-contact elements upon short current and maximum temperature will be measured. The long term behaviour of the contact material upon temperature, time and current density is the subject matter of the second part of the joint project. Part 3 includes an investigation of the long term behaviour of fixed connections to conductors composed of bundles of small aluminium wires. In addition, the properties of contact materials in their original state and the changes (mechanical and micro-structural (figure 1)) will be compared during the application of various investigated loads.
