Nano-laminated composite layers
Magnetic Properties of Cr2AlC(Mn) - layers
Nanolaminated composite layers of Cr2AlC (figure 1) provide a particularly good thermal protection and, therefore, are interesting for potential industry applications. The nanolaminated structure forms the basis for particularly interesting physical properties which have not been extensively investigated. In this project a systematic doping of the layers with Mn in the place of Cr will be modelled, and corresponding samples will be produced and characterised. This will be done with particular attention being paid to the magnetic properties, which are expected to produce interesting results.
