Participation at the ESA GNC-ICATT Conference 2023
The Chair of Flight Mechanics and Control had last week the opportunity to participate with three papers at the ESA GNC and ICATT Conference in Sopot, Poland. The papers were the results of our work within the ESA projects ACE with Airbus Defense and Space and LAURCF with Astos Solutions, respectively.
Adaptable Control for Vibration Attenuation of a Laser Communication Terminal:
The first paper presents an adaptive control scheme to improve the data transmission rate of a Laser Communication Terminal by attenuating external vibrations. It is a collaboration with our colleagues from Airbus Defense and Space in Toulouse. More information and the full paper can be found here.
Integral Quadratic Constraint-Based Robustness Analysis of Launch Vehicles:
The second paper showcases the advantages of integrating linear time varying performance analyses into the space launcher control design and certification process. It highlights that classical time invariant analyses are unsuitable for studying launch vehicles and novel methods as the one described in the paper are required. The full paper is available here.
Tapping the Potential of LPV and Adaptable Methods for Spacecraft Control Systems
In the final paper we were supporting our colleagues from Airbus Defense and Space to give an overview of the potential of novel methods for spacecraft control based on our research within the ESA project ACE, click here for more information.
