Studying at the Chair of Flight Mechanics and Control
The Chair strives to offer a comprehensive and motivating range of courses in order to contribute to the education of tomorrow's engineers. In addition to a broad and interdisciplinary range of lectures, committed students have the opportunity to actively participate in the research of the Chair within the framework of student research projects. Here, the students benefit from the broad technical positioning of the Chair, which also includes the research group experimental aerodynamics.
Aerospace Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering program is one of the largest programs at Technischen Universität Dresden and belongs to the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering. It is offered as a traditional diploma program and comprises a five-year course of study.
After two years of basic studies in mechanical engineering, students choose a specialization according to their interests. The Institute of Aerospace Engineering offers lectures for the specialization in aerospace and engine technology. In a further specialization, students can acquire expertise in the fields of flight mechanics, flight control and aircraft aerodynamics. For this purpose, the Chair offers a wide range of lectures. These include Flight Mechanics, Flight Dynamics and Control, Aircraft Aerodynamics and Thermofluid Dynamics. In the Interdisciplinary Project in Aerospace Engineering, students can then actively apply the knowledge gained to the design and development of their own aircraft.
