Test Service in our Facilities (Flyer)
We have over 10 different vacuum chambers up to the size of 1.4x1.5x2.5 m³ which we make available for a wide variety of tests. These include, for example
- Mechanical testing of aerospace components at low air pressures
- Thermal cycling of space components
- Solar simulator
- Testing of electric space propulsion systems and their components
- Atomic oxygen (ATOX) irradiation
- Simulation of LEO plasma or VLEO conditions
- Measuring thrust forces with our high-precision thrust balances
High-Precision Compact Thrust Balance (Flyer)
We have developed a unique thrust balance, especially for use with electric thrusters, which is characterized by the following properties:
- Extremely compact 400x360x300 mm³ - fits into any vacuum chamber
- Best possible resolution down to the nano-Newton range
- Numerous feedthroughs for high voltage/high current/USB/thermocouples, etc.
- Software for balance operation and control of experiments
- Many upgrade options for extended measuring range and possibility for indirect thrust measurement with large collector (ideal for RF thrusters)
Cathode/Electron Sources (Flyer)
We are pleased to offer a range of electron sources:
- Compact heaterless hollow cathode for currents of 0.3-2 A for operation with xenon, krypton, argon, etc.
- Cold cathodes (no heater and no fuel required) based on CNTs up to 100 mA in flat or radial design
- Customized currents and designs are possible
LEO Plasma and VLEO Neutral Particle Simulators (Flyer)
We can simulate a typical LEO plasma or fast neutral particles as in Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO). We can provide such generators ourselves or tests in our vacuum chambers.
Langmuir Probe Instrument e.g. for CubeSats (Flyer)
Enables in-situ measurement of plasma density and temperature in a very compact and low-power instrument including I2C interface.
