Studying at the Chair of Space Systems
The Chair of Space Systems places particular emphasis on an extensive and committed training of future space engineers. Therefore, we constantly strive to improve the teaching quality and provide a comprehensive curriculum to students from all disciplines.
Aerospace engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering
The study course Mechanical Engineering is one of the largest degree programmes at TU Dresden and is part of the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering. It is offered in the format of a traditional diploma engineering course and consists of a continuous five-year study programme.
After a two-year fundamental course in mechanical engineering, students opt for a specialisation, according to their personal interests. The Institute of Aerospace Engineering offers lectures for the specialisation in the fields of aeronautical and aerospace engineering as well as engine technology. In a further specialisation field, students can acquire expertise in the field of astronautics. To this end, the chair offers a wide range of lectures. Students can learn the basics of electrical propulsion, orbital mechanics, satellite communications and space stations.
Space science includes interdisciplinary research and teaching areas, therefore lectures and supervision of scientific papers are open to students and guest students from all departments.
