Digital Concrete 2024
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Will, Chair of Construction Machinery at TUD Dresden University of Technology, presented current research results on the process handling of monolithic concrete 3D printing at the international conference "Digital Concrete 2024". The presentation covered the possible applications of a targeted manner of vibration input during the 3D printing process for coarse-grained concretes. Furthermore, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Viktor Mechtcherine, Head of the Institute of Construction Materials at TUD Dresden University of Technology, presented innovative approaches to reinforcement integration that are being developed in collaboration with the concrete 3D printing team from the Chair of Construction Machinery.
From September 4 to 6, experts from all over the world gathered in Munich to share their knowledge on various topics ranging from the rheology of the printing material, process control and reinforcement integration to hardened concrete properties and the use of alternative binders. One key finding was that the potential of additive construction methods is enormous. We will continue to support this path with our research.
