Completion of the "StaGuBau" project
The FVB research project StaGuBau has been successfully completed. In a joint project, the Chair of Construction Machinery, the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden and the Foundry Institute of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg have demonstrated a fundamental method for systematic tool development with requirement-oriented alloy design using the example of a FeCrMoVC steel casting alloy for construction machinery and building material plants.
In a targeted manner, the chemical composition of the base alloy was modified depending on the requirements profile of the application in question as well as the casting technology properties and process parameters in order to make academic materials research usable for industrial purposes.
The results are extremely promising and prototypes are currently still being tested in practice, helping to further increase the capabilities and service life of construction machinery.
