From diesel to electric - the future of construction sites

On 04.05.2026 an expert panel on the topic"ZECS Zero Emission Construction Sites" took place, which was organized by BELLONA Deutschland gGmbH & KLIMATIC Group. Part of the program was a presentation by Professor Frank Will entitled "Drive Systems for Construction Machinery: State of the Art and Outlook", which focused on the following topics:

• Power and energy requirements of construction machinery
• Overview of alternative drive systems with their strengths and weaknesses
• Options for the power and energy supply of construction sites
• Outlook and recommendations for the transformation to low-CO2 solutions
