The Chair of Fluid-Mechatronic Systems consists of four main reasearch pillars. These are physical-technical fundamentals/fluids, the hydraulic components, the stationary hydraulic systems, the mobile hydraulic systems, the pneumatic components and systems and valve actuators/solenoids.

According to our research priorities we cover projects topics in the following areas: improvemetn in valve technology, actuators, hydrostatic displacement units, displacement-controlled drives, independent metering, hybrid system structures. On the system side we work on projects that cover the development of software for fluid-mechatronic systems, the safety in fluid mechatronic functions, the diagnostic / prognostic in machines and components, stationary and mobile as well as aerospace applications.

Our researchers publish their ideas and results in scientific journals, books, dissertations as well as in lectures at conferences, symposia and workshops. The publications of the institute are summarized in an anthology on an annual basis. The contents of our lectures are provided in transcript printings for our students. Through continuous updating our lectures are kept up to date with new developments and trends in the field of fluid-mechatronic systems.
