VDI Future Pilots as guests at the LWM - Open Cyclone

Students of the Dresden VDI Future Pilots Club
Committed students from the Dresden VDI Zukunftspiloten-Club were guests at the TUD Dresden University of Technology as part of a three-part workshop series - organized and supervised by Christoph Peukert and Marcel Merx.
The aim was to explore circular design and open source hardware - using the Open Cyclone, a modular handheld vacuum cleaner developed by Lion Sanguinette and Jonathan Stein as part of a design project at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle.
🧠 The participants gained experience in
✅ CAD design
✅ 3D printing
✅ Device assembly
... and acquired basic knowledge of how cyclone vacuum cleaners/centrifugal separators work.
The workshops impressively demonstrated how early insights into sustainable technology development can inspire young people. 💡✨
Many thanks to everyone involved - especially the pupils and the inspiration from the OSHOP project!
