Student research projects and diploma theses in Mechanical Engineering according to Diploma Examination Regulations 2012
The project work for the module MB-23 internship will be done during the 7th semester and will be evaluated with 30 credit points together with the proof of a 16-week practical work experience. The total workload for the practical work, the self-study and the preparation of the project work is 900 hours. Module description
The project work for the module MB-24 Research Internship will be completed during the 9th semester with a time expenditure of 330 hours and evaluated with 11 credit points. It is conceived as an independent scientific-technical engineering work and represents the immediate preliminary stage of the diploma thesis. The topics of the project work are selected from the current research projects of the chair. Module description
After successful completion of all examinations, the diploma thesis is written in the 10th semester (processing time 5 months). The topics of the diploma thesis are selected from the current research projects of the chair. Each thesis is defended at the end by the diploma student in the context of a colloquium and evaluated with a total of 30 credit points.

The chair also offers topics for interdisciplinary project work, major papers and diploma theses as well as for seminar papers, student research projects and diploma theses in the field of mechatronics. Scope and deadlines depend on the respective diploma examination regulations.
