TU Dresden Advent Calendar 2020 - SNIFFBOT
Santa Claus is missing! Robots from the Faculty of Computer Science and the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering at TU Dresden go in search of him. They work in a swarm, on the ground and in the air and are equipped with wireless sensor networks and with bio- and microsensors. In the SNIFFBOT project, scientists at TU Dresden are developing methods and technologies for deploying gas-sniffing robots in hazardous environments. They can be operated remotely and should make the use and endangerment of humans unnecessary.
SNIFFBOT is just one of the projects on which the computer scientists and mechanical engineers are conducting intensive research into human-computer collaboration and in the fields of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
