In advance of the exam date
- At least 1 week before: Log in with your ZIH login on the exam platform that is relevant for you exam platform via if you have not already done so (mandatory for participation). Possible exam platforms are:
- OPAL Exam: https://exam.zih.tu-dresden.de
- OPAL Exam2: https://exam2.zih.tu-dresden.de
- OPAL exam3: https://exam3.zih.tu-dresden.de
- Participation in the exam is only possible via the ZIH login on the exam platforms. You can log in from 15 minutes before the exam starts.
Be present (virtually) at least 5 minutes before the start. - Use an up-to-date browser (for example Firefox, Chrome) for the exam.
- Please also note the detailed instructions for taking an ONYX exam.
Immediately before starting the exam:
- Test internet connection before starting the exam.
- Check whether the set up communication channel (...) is working.
- Start and finish your exam within the given time window, i.e. a submission as soon as possible before the end of the exam time. Especially in the case of upload tasks, expect that the system or network may react with a delay if there are (very) many simultaneous uploads.
During the exam:
- In case of problems and questions during the exam, please report promptly at ... (preferably in writing in ... and then wait until you are contacted by the supervisor).
- If you interrupt an ONYX exam, for example due to a browser crash, please wait 5 minutes before logging in again to ensure that your entered answers have been completely transmitted to the system.
- For upload assignments, note the name on the sheet(s) of the file first.
- Be mindful of file size: a maximum of 300 MB can be uploaded. Please save files in sufficient, but not highest resolution.
After submitting the exam:
- Please log out quickly.
Further hints:
- For upload tasks: The solution path must be clearly recognizable and noted in a clear form. Missing intermediate steps cannot be evaluated.
Basic information:
- Students not entered in the examination list for the examination can only take part in the examination subject to clarification of the circumstances. Correction is only possible after clarification of the circumstances and only if necessary.
- Mobile and long-distance means of communication may not be used. We ask that you do not abuse the trust we place in you during digital exams.
- A proven attempt at dishonest work will result in exclusion from the exam and a grade of 5 or "Fail".
