To support our teaching and research we are looking for interested students with a specialization in "General and Constructive Mechanical Engineering".
As a tutor you can work in the subjects Machine Elements for Mechanical Engineers and for students of the specialization Mechatronics and Renewable Energy Systems after finishing your 4th semester. We are looking for students of higher semesters for support in the subjects Drive Elements and Modeling and Simulation.
In research we offer interesting activities with focus on simulation, model development, design, development of simulation programs, test bench support and more.
Please keep in mind when deciding on a SHK position or if you are interested in a contract extension that the employment process can take up to six weeks. Therefore, please contact us early in the semester break.
Topic-based Proposals:
Programming work on BECAL - program for load capacity calculation on bevel and hypoid gears
- Creation of unit test and smaller routines in FORTRAN
- Versioning with SVN
- Knowledge in programming desirable
- Flexible work schedule, also from home
- Creation of illustrations and simple drawings for teaching materials

Student assistant (5h/week) to support gear measurement
- Independently carrying out measurements
- Preparation of measurement reports
- Scientific support activities (mainly gearing measurement and documentation)
- Photo documentation of tooth flanks

Student assistant (5h/week) to support the execution of test runs
- Research on basics and current guidelines
- Support and planning of test runs (torsion, bending, tension, compression, staircase tests)
- Independent execution of small calculations
- Support in the creation of FE simulation models
