Objective: | Representation of rotor dynamic effects in the frequency and time domain |
Approach: | The investigations are based on FE-modelled rotors whose rotor dynamic characteristics can be represented by modal analyses in a Campbell diagram. Transient analyses of unbalance excitation (e.g. by blade loss or bird strike) are performed with ANSYS (FEM) and SIMPACK (MKS). The results and modelling concepts critically compared with each other. In particular, the representation of rotor dynamic effects in MBS-environment will be analysed. |
Results: | The obtained results are used for verifying the suitability of MBS for modelling and simulation of rotor dynamic systems. In a comparison, the advantages and disadvantages or the limits of the respective software are indicated and, if necessary, alternative modelling concepts are developed. |
